Hitachi KC-783 Copal II motor, gear replacement

Howdy,
I've got a stripped gear on Hitachi flip clock radio (KC-783)
Motor is Copal II is working fine, however the first distribution gear (1st next to brass motor gear) has multiple stripped teeth.
I recon best way to go about it is to find a donor and salvage a gear.
Does anyone know which device would have a similar or identical gear box?

Forgive my slowness here but which gear? 1 2 or 3?


I'm thinking I saw some gears in a hobby shop in Louisville, KY. Can you get some dimensions or (tedious) I know, count the teeth (that will be more to the point anyway).

I don't recall having any motor on hand that looks like that.

I will need to take the box apart to get to the offending piece, I can attempt to count the teeth.

Its a curious piece, not very common since some of those still percolate in peoples garages as radios, plastic gears did not held up as good as the rest of it.

interesting - adjacent thread about Sanyo RM8400 shows a similarly looking gearbox on a copal motor.
I wonder if its the same thing...

That thing looks like it may be s pretty standard size. Need diameter.

Sanyo RM8400 owner here. Attepmts to search eBay and the rest of internets for a replacement gear were unsuccessful. I also tried local clock/watch repair shops an RC model stores, nothing at all, nobody could help with that.

Solution: I found a guy at an RC forum whom I have successfully contacted and sent him my gearbox with the broken gear. I told him what I needed, I had 2 gears made. Not exactly the same module with the same depth of teeth, and not exactly cheap (clock cost me 300 CZK, gears 500) but when I put the gearbox together it fit okay and my clock has been running for some 4 months now. No trouble so far, keeps perfect time.

I'm planning to post a full video of the Sanyo RM8400, hopefully it'll be soon enough.

I have the same motor with the same problem...only mine is out of a sony. Someone needs to start making these gears!
