Wanted - Motor for Karlsson Big Flip Clock

    Hi Everyone

I brought a Karlsson Big Flip clock at auction, took a chance on it as I loved the clock. When I got it home I found everything worked just fine but the date doesn’t flip around. I took it apart to find the issue is the motor driving the date flap. A tiny pin snapped off on a cog that can’t be fixed with superglue…. So….

I am after a working replacement motor for a Karlsson Big Flip… does anyone have one please or know where I can buy one?

Any help offered greatly received, I am based in South London.

I have never replaced a motor on one of these so don't know. Can you post a picture of your motor so anyone here might recognise it?

This clock is also branded Fartech or Habitat. You may be able to get a new motor assembly by contacting either of these companies.

Another option is to replace only the broken gear but this requires some searching and a bit of fiddly work. I have once done this to repair a Physic FK-247 clock that uses a similar (or same?) mechanism. You need to count the teeth and measure the dimensions of the gear. The gear module (a measure for the size of the teeth) is probably 0.5 mm. These can easily be found on AliExpress (I think I got them from an assortment of gears for toys that I bought because it might be useful some day ) or you can order them here https://shop.kkpmo.com/index.php?cat...ls-Pinion.html
The fiddly bit is glueing them together as even super glue does not hold very well on this plastic.
Another tricky bit can be reassembling the mechanism after having taken it apart. One tip: take pictures at each step before taking anything apart!
