Unfortunately, the sellers photos are all upside down in the listing. I've taken the liberty of righting a few of them for posterity here, as it better illustrates this unusual arrangement of mechanisms. I presume they must run off of one common motor or clockwork arrangement, but it must be quite complex to achieve that.

I had one of these once. It had a small synchronous motor driving a continuous roll using a sprocket arrangement. Unfortunately the holes in the roll that are moved by the sprocket become worn and or torn which makes it stop working. It made a nice display but being 110 volts and 60 cycles it was only ever going to be a display.Comment

Nice find and also some good info Daddy-O! Having that background knowledge, would deter me from buying it other than for very little money for when it goes/breaks, it will be hard to fix and as you said, it is US spec... Potentially there is a EU version of the motor which is swappable, who knows.Comment

I did put in an offer on it, but it was declined. I like the look of it, but I don't know that I possess the skills necessary to fix it in the likely event that it's not working properly, and that's quite a bit of money for something that is unlikely to work.Comment
