Hi folks, new to clock world but got one to play around with (seiko qn401-r). So far it has been a journey of learning, I reckon my magnetic cog is somewhat medium strength. It will spin every time it get a new D-battery in but stop after few hours/minutes/seconds (it varies). The wires and circuit board looks normal, no sign of corrosion.
    The motor: Seikosha Co,.Ltd

All cogs is lubed up, I don't quite know whether it is the coil or something on circuit board is not working. Time to whip out multimeter I guess although I am not an expert in electromagnetic field.

Thank you for reading my introduction/rant and appreciate any advice, cheers!
