    Modern Flip Clock Thoughts

I've been looking at some of the modern flip clocks (all battery operated it seems) proffered on places like Amazon and was wondering what some of the other members thoughts are on them.
In my limited knowledge and beginning stages of the learning curve on flip clocks, it appears nothing has changed but the technology might have improved. I haven't had the opportunity to take one apart yet. I do tend to like some of the modern design. WoneNice (bamboo style), Kabb, and Twemco are producing modern flips. I've seen airplanes, bicycles, box and one with a pendulum. I do not like the battery operation as every one I have seen or previewed is battery powered. Has anyone purchased a brand new flip clock? Quality? Motor? Durability? Do you think they would be as collectible in the future as the 70's styles are now?
Just some random thoughts for discussion.

Ok, I have purchased some of these modern flip clocks. I do not believe the technology has improved at all. The early copals were made at a much higher level of quality. Most new clocks are made in China and many are of lesser quality. That's especially true of those little boxy clocks. The Twemco's are decent (I have one) but I still don't feel that it's the best quality. That being said, I am a fan of the Leff Amsterdam modern flip clock and it's made in China.

Here's a couple of related videos

The Pill flip clock is relatively modern (2009 I think). It's not a bad clock. Again, they do not seem to match the quality of the Sony's and Panasonics, but they work... and they're flip clocks. So ...

Man, I haven't watched this in a while. I was in a weird mood when I made this. (watch until the end .... or not if you don't like silliness).
