ID:	31559 I am looking for some information on my Ricoh alarm flip clock EC-75003. Specifically, I'm trying to figure out roughly when it was marketed and sold and typical advertised sale prices. It seems to be less common than the "Hallmark Ricoh" / Faces West / Sun Valley non-alarm flip clock. Thanks!!

I've searched the newspaper archives and came up with almost nothing. It was probably out between 1973-1977 and likely cost in the range of 10-20 dollars but that's a guess. As you probably know, your clock was sold in Canada. There was a sale on a clock with a similar model number in 1974 in a Canadian newspaper. Sometimes the last digits of these clock model numbers just means a different color. Seth Thomas cubes clocks did that.

It's a very nice clock and I'd definitely love to own that one.

That's a very cool clock, I did not know they came with an alarm as well. I only know the 75001, which is similar but then without an alarm. I have never seen an orange one either.

Unfortunately I had a source for new/new motors for these clocks but they stopped making this particular model of motor. It was the original maker for the motors, which is still in business. I had gotten some Twemco motors from them as well, they (as per last year) still did those.

Yeah, as admin the forum sends out a lot of automatic messages, mostly when people join and I forget to clean those out.
But I'm guessing you might be wondering if I would be a buyer. ?
But no, I've bought something recently and I've hit my flip clock quota for this month!!

Yes, at first I thought you were expressing interest but realized I was probably misinterpreting your comments. Thanks for the little bit of historical info you did find though! It does seem like a rare bird. Maybe it was a Canada market only item?

I actually did have it posted on eBay for a couple of days but cancelled the listing. I may repost it in the future.
