Which voltage - 220v or 230/240v? Does it matter?

    Hi

I'm probably overthinking this, but I just bought a beautiful Copal Caslon which is good for 180 to 260 V AC.

Our nominal voltage is ~230-240v, but I also have a 220V European stepdown transformer.

Any advantages to the longevity of the clock motor for running 220V versus our nominal 230-240? Extra wattage of the transformer is trivial (~ 1.5 to 2w).

    Thanks.

It's rated for up to 260 so you're completely safe. I get clocks meant for Japan use, which are technically rated for 100 V but I run them at 120 without any problem at all.

What model number did you get. Not that it matters ...I just like the Copal Caslons very much.

It's a dark woodgrain 602 with black trim. Really nice look to it.
Working...
