I bought this fully working 1971 Magnavox 1R1736 for a good price for all functioning machine.
It has 2 green ligh bulbs for the radio dial and 1 standard neon for the clock and 1 standard yellow for the alarm.
I wanted to clean inside the massive curved lens but it is actually plastic welded for the case and I left it like that. It has some visible dust inside.
The mechanism is not a Copal one and the motor has a shroud around and no access to oil it. So I let it be.
Radio itself is pretty good. When on function "FM-AFC" It sounds very clear
Some of the features are regular alarm, alarm + radio together, just radio and also sleep (up to 60 minutes) and wake up radio. The snooze is called "wink". Overall very complicated alarm functions. What a gem
It is not my cup of tea. My few copals that I have now do not look outdated while this one does.I do not plan to keep it forever and may let it go or trade it for even lesser flip clocks.
