Flip Clocks were not flip clocks in the 70s

I've wanted to research the evolution of the term "flip clock" for a while. And what better time than now ... when I am partially furloughed from my job due to the MySharona virus. Here's the video. Links to clocks shown that I got from eBay below... Check out that Magnavox .... I might have to buy that.

You have some great historical brochures, magazines and newspaper clippings there, not to mention all your flip clocks.

Have you thought about setting up a flip clock museum, if you ever get tired of your day job?

I could loan you some radios and groovy bell bottoms from that era for more ambience.

It would be far out man

You got a shed? When Sharona blows over, just do it.
I'll bring the set dressings, it'll cost you a free coffee in your coffee shop!

I seem to remember that in the 70’s, they were just called digital clocks. The LED models usually advertised being solid state or space age or some other gimmick.

Strangely, in newspaper articles it was the flip clocks that were called "Space Age" more than the digital clocks.
