I'm not bidding for it as I already own a blue 228 (albeit in a condition at the other end of the scale).

A blue one, in a European spec, that's very rare, not seen that before! I'm tempted, but the bidding has already gone up too high...

With regard to restoring these, getting them back to white is a labour of love but it is very doable using the right techniques, it all depends on the condition of the plastic as to how well the end result turns out.
