This is some oddity, I have seen one before, for sale, a couple of years ago, and did not expect to see another like it, but here it is. Do I like it? No, it is curious and odd, yes. It looks like something they could have used on the set of the original Star Trek series

I love the design philosophy! Seems to potentially use one of the mechanisms shared by BRAUN clocks as well.
