They are nice, but not super reliable... They either have a tuning fork mechanism or some kind of weird pre-quartz mechanism with some rubberized moving parts which wear over time. I've owned a couple of these and still have a non-working one (somewhere ), but yeah, I would not pay more than 50/60 for one of these, knowing that nothing has been done to them.
