Oh these RARE flip clocks on ebay

So I see a listing for an, of course, RARE Panasonic RC-7254 on ebay. But what's this? there is another one just one listing below it. And, yes ... another on the same page about 10 down. I wish these sellers would come up with a better descriptor. I've had a seller argue with me that his clock was rare (and yes, I do converse with sellers about their bogus listings when the urge hits me) and he assured me that he had done his research (which consisted of searching ebay).
    Oh boy.
But in any event, I do like the looks of those. And I haven't had my grubby flip clock finger on one yet. so ... who knows.

RARE! lol...they are sort of scarce compared to other models, but not really rare. The 7254 are, for some reason, somewhat fragile. The tiles tend to break their mounting tabs rather easily compared to other, smaller, tiles. I have 4 movements from 7254s and the same movement in the Emerson BigTime...all with 5 to 10 busted tiles each.

That's been my limited experience with this one as well, two clocks in otherwise good shape, each one had several broken tiles.

Yeah, it is really strange. They seem to be of similar thickness and and material as the smaller tiles, but I guess the added weight, perhaps, makes them more vulnerable to wear over time. I have only successfully rebuilt one of each, 7254 and BigTime, and was always worried they would eventually break a tile or two. The rest I gave up on as I did not trust their ability to stay in one piece.

This is an interesting conversation here about the tiles. Thanks guys. I probably won't get one unless someone gives it to me. Do like the big numbers though.

              Did you buy one?

When I have time, I tend to troll eBay and then, try to message and correct folks who list they have a Panasonic RC-6015. When in fact, it not one. Also, used to see this with the Panasonic RC-6025. The worse is when they even mention the movies “Back To the Future” or “Groundhog Day”. Sometimes I feel they’re just keyword spamming. So, deceitful.

Speaking of rare?!!!! This is, in fact VERY RARE!!!
                It’s a Seiko QN412Y
If this clock is an outlet type, can be used 100 V only. Battery type is no problem. CONDITION New with box and manual. Works well.

Well. It’s nice but not 3-4 hundred dollar nice.

Also “the mother all Panasonic flip clocks”! As the seller even says in his description. Lol!
This is the mother of all panasonic flip clocks. Large, very high quality, and attractive. All of the lights work, am and fm sound great, and the alarm functions as it should. It’s a beauty. I cleaned the exterior and cleaned the pots. The clock motor looks great. The clock movement operates

That’s news to me! The Panasonic RC-6551 Digidator came out in 1972. If any clock deserves the title it would be The Panasonic RC-7469 “The Cameron” that came out in 1969. But maybe the seller figures that’s a male name.

I concur, that’s exactly why I posted it with a “lol”.
