I haven't managed to find very much info about this online; snip is from a 1977 Charleston, West Virginia newspaper ad. Found it at a local indoor flea-market for a couple of dollars - marked "Does not work".
It does actually work though - someone had previously taken it apart, and got the short/long screws mixed up, putting it in a bind. Motor was a little sticky too... let it run for a while, no load, and it loosened right up.
It was an impulse buy, as it looked similar to a flip clock that I had as a kid, even though I don't quite remember exactly what mine even was...
