    Sankyo 401 Alarm Clock

Good morning I purchased this non-working watch hoping to fix it.
I disassembled it and detached the motor from the coil, the pinion was stuck. I warmed up the engine for a few minutes with a hair dryer, after a couple of attempts the sprocket moved. It takes a bit of force to spin it, but you feel the Gears are in place, no slippage.
Reassembling everything the watch does not work the same.
The coil puzzles me, it's very dark, it looks burnt out.
What can I do to test the coil or motor to understand what the problem is?
Thank you for the help you can give me.
    Best regards

I think I understand the problem, the clock is 120 V, but whoever had it has installed the European electrical socket, the current comes out at 220 V in Italy. He must have burned the reel...
    Solutions?

Do you have any means to test it with a 110v converter? You do not really need the 60hz to test the mechanism, only to test how accurate the clock is and will be with time keeping.

I don't know how to test the engine. I think the coil is burned, the plastic if you look at the photos is melted.

Your best bet would be to find a donor clock, but to find one in a tested, working condition is not going to be easy...
