    Sanyo RM5430 Stereocast

The latest addition to my expanding "stable" of flip clocks. The outer case and front cover are both in good shape, especially now they've been cleaned. After a good internal clean, the knobs and sliders are working much better with less stiffness and crackle, although the radio "off/auto/manual" switch is going to require some stabilising as it's a little on the loose side. The clock/motor is not currently running, at least it doesn't sound or feel like it is... with past clocks there's nearly always some signs of life from the motor, but not this one...!

So, to tackle it....?! Anyone with any experience of dead/ill motors on this particular model?

Go to the video section and check out : "The Panasonic Cameron RC-7469 Flip Clock Radio" @ 8:34 you'll see how to clean motor with Isopropyl Alcohol. I have left the motor soaking for about 10 minutes, and worked fine afterwards. Good luck.

Good news, there's life in the motor and it's running. It undoubtedly needs lubricating longer-term, but it's spinning away and the numbers are flipping nicely at the moment. It's very quiet too in operation., one of the quietest I've come across so far. Now, to do something about the radio selector toggle...
