    Telefunken Digitale 101 repair

Hi everybody, my actual Project is a beautiful clock radio out of the early 70th.
It's a Telefunken Digitale 101. This Typ and the facelifted follower the Digitale 201 were well sold flipclock Radios in Germany

The Radio is running quite well. I mainly have to replace the speaker because of a damaged and ruptured membrane. All bulb-Lamps have been blowing up and the normaly white housing is yellowed over the years.

First of all I cleaned the housing and repaired the clock, so it's flipping again. Because most of the gears are made of metal, it was just a cleaning procedure.
Unfortunately the hour is always flipping 3-4 Minutes too early. So in the morning it cause a heart attack if it‘s showing 6:57 but it‘s 5:57 in reallife. If the Newsshow starts everything is nice again. Clock shows 6:00 .
Is there a way to fix that ?

    Hi,
I don't know if this is your problem or not, but I experienced a similiar situation with my clock and the problem was the metal "dog ear" piece that holds back the hour tile so that the minutes are synchronized to the hour. In my case the tab was bent, and fixing it was a matter of carefully bending it back to its original position.

Here is the post where I fixed my particular problem.

Hello, I recently acquired a very nice GE Chrono-Glow 7-4380A flipclock. As the title states, the digits are "borked up". Please see the attached pictures (1st pic) to get an idea of what I mean by that. I have removed the mechanism and the motor and from what I can tell, the tines (a.k.a. "fingers") appear

I know that Mackey has a good video on youtube (don't recall the title) which explains how that all works. So that might be helpful too.

    Best of luck!

Can you show us a picture of the front of the clockwork, as close-up as possible. A picture where you see the flap and everything that surrounds it. It could be an issue as described here above, but we should be able to determine that from the photo.
If it really is a serious issue with your clockwork, I have a few parts clocks for this model so I might have a perfect working replacement clockwork for you...

Hi, thanks for your answers. So if I understand you correctly, there is no "hidden" screw for adjustment.
Only the two tongues above the number-segments have to be bent by hand to adjust the flip timing. I have two close-ups where you can see the different bends of the tongues (each photo has a focus on a different segment) . I think on the hour segment, the switching was probably delayed as much as possible because the tongue is almost straight (i.e. longest). So I hope the Pics are ok for you.

Is it a good idear to loose the screw in the next Pic for trying to delay the flipping of the hours?

In the meantime I fixed the clock light and the two bulbs for the scale lighting . Because I have no idear where I can buy those and have some LED's left from a fairy lights, I decided to get those back to buisness.
Luckywise the third bulb (behind a green plastic cap) for indicating the alarm mode was ok.
A B80R Bridge and 1k resistor out of my grabbelkiste creates the V-in for the LED's (See it in action on Pic.2 ). So I'm happy with the night-mode of the Telefunken Digitale 101.

Update: I think it‘s fixed. After Reading GSchmidts nice repairreport , I take a closer Look Between the Segments. there is a little Nose to hold the hour plate the Last 10 Minutes till full Hour.

          Smoothly bended it back.
Now the hour falls in sync with switching from Minute 59 to 00. Hope the next Hour changings also work fine.

I will keep you informed. Regards Tim

ID:	30746It‘s done. The Telefunken clockradio ist working again, Hours and Minutes a flipping correctly. The final issue was the replacement of the old Power cable. The old one was verry inflexible so i went to a local Apartment liquidator who had a lot of Vintage stuff on Stock and bought a nice simular Vintage cable in better conditions for quite nothing. Thanks a lot for your kind Support.
