In need of replacement flaps for no-name clock

    Hello,

Great forum people, thank you for helping out.

I bought a damaged no-name flip clock, the label on the back only says "Auto Calendar Quartz Clock ; Ser No E9716450" and I have not found much information online, only a video of the exact same clock here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g5VlViMus0
The only distinctive sign on the clock in a little symbol in the background of the regular needle clock, of a house with the roof shaped like a heart.

Now to my problem, the flaps were badly heated and have completely deformed, they are all wavy and block themselves and don't flip. I first want to try to iron them flat, do you recommend it? If this fails, is there a place where I can buy replacement flaps? I have looked online and found nothing.

    Thank you very much,

The house with a heart sounds like the 'Habitat' brand/shop. It is a generic clock (I believe), also sold under different names. I would try to bake them in the oven. Start with a very low temperature, let's say 30 degrees celcius and work your way up from there. Of course don't just lay them in the oven, try to flatten them between two very flat pieces of earthenware or something similar. Something which would stack on top of each other and has a bit of weight to it. Start with 30 degrees, 10 minutes and see what happens and take it from there, it is a bit of trial and hopefully no error. From experience I can say you will likely have to work your way up to aro. 60 degrees celcius, but as said, start low just to be sure.

    Good luck!

      Hi,

Thanks for the tip, I tried it and it worked great except for the fact that some of the flaps have shrunk widthwise by a few millimeters. But the little pegs on each side still reach the wheels so it's all good.
And you were right, it is an Habitat clock, discontinued now but they still sell the 24x24cm version on their website.

Thank you for the help, you can close the topic now.
