Most of you probably know the trick to remove a stuck knob using Gorilla tape.
But in some case, like with the Copal 228, the shape of the knob is such that there is very little to get a hold on. Luckily with the 228 you can remove the cover and can try to push the knob out from the inside, but even then I did not manage to remove the knob.
This simple trick came to the rescue:
Wrap a piece of string around the axle in the gap between the knob and the alarm wheel. After each turn pull the string as tight as possible. As you force more and more string into the gap, the pressure builds and the knob is pushed outwards
