I recently picked up this copal rp205 clock and it totally works however when running there is this whirr whirr whirr sound which I think is the motor. I think this models motor is different than most other flip clocks and not sure exactly how to try to lube it. Any help would be appreciated. Also is there a site that sells replacement motors?

Member FarCry had a similar problem and made this post about it, including a video of the issue: https://www.flipclockfans.com/forum/...m-copal-rp-205
Does your clock sound similar to this one?
I have no experience with this motor, but maybe someone else on the forum has.- Translate

Even a replacement motor would very likely make the same noise. I have acquired a bunch of these, new old stock, in box and lubricated them and tested them and some would still make that noise. If you ask me, it comes down to using cheap parts and a not so great design of the motor. A few of the new old stock ones were simply unusable other than for parts for they would not operate in a normal fashion.
The only thing you can try is to very carefully pry open the motor (take care, the hooks with which the plastic cover latches onto to the base of the motor are very thin and brittle, clean out any old lube that you see and replace it with new stuff.
Let us know how it goes!- Translate

If you snap one off, you might just get away with it but that would be trial and error I suppose. If it does not work, I would try some duct tape or gorilla tape first before you glue it, just to see whether that works.
Good luck!- Translate

So I opened up the motor area and added some grease, to be honest it didn’t look to bad but when I put it back to feather the clock no longer flips. The spiral is going around but no clock movement also the sound is still there. I’m just about to give up on this thing. Are there any substitute motor I could try or is that just the end of this thing?- Translate

I tried a substitute gearbox / motor sent to me from flipoclock, and it still didn't work. The kind of motor these use (the RP-205/207) is very fragile and may stop working even when not being used.
I'd say it may be time to move on or leave it as a display piece, as much as it pains me to say. I've never seen someone use a copal-ii motor on these, and I don't know it one could fit.- Translate
