First repair help! (GE-74305 I think gearbox issue)

Hello! I recently made my first repair attempt. The clock is in great shape... except it doesn't flip. I got the motor out and cleaned it thoroughly in alcohol and now it's spinning great, but that didn't fix it. I guess the issue is in the gearbox? Should I just pop the case off and try to lube the gears a bit? Where else could there be a problem that I could address? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I'd love to be redirected to that thread if so. Thanks in advance!

What's the letter designation after the model number, if any: GE-74305A (B,C,D, etc). Some of these were true flip mechanisms, while others were cyclotrons. That will help us determine the motor type and what the problem might be.

If the motor spins, but isn't advancing the digits then the gearbox may have a stripped gear.

Pardon me, it's a GE-74310. I've attached a picture of the gearbox. All the gears seem to be present, but they stop spinning at the second to last one. Does that mean it's stripped? Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for posting the pic. Usually, the first plastic gear that contacts the main brass spindle gear is the likely culprit. Those are known to get damaged over time. It isn't terribly common for this to happen, but it does happen.

Another gear that can fail is the large plastic gear that connects to the final output gear on the outside of the plate. The plastic can split from the metal shaft that slides into it.

You were right about the final gear! All I had to do was press on the output gear and something clicked back into place (no idea what), but it kept time perfectly last night. Thanks for the help.
