COPAL flip clock motor needed. Model RP-240. Please help!

    Hello friends,

Currently looking for a motor mechanism for my flip clock.
Its been in use for many years and today actually stopped working. I always kept it clean - it has been taken apart and cleaned few years back. Never had issue with it. It was always on time.
Gears are in perfect condition, thought something happened with wires but checked and voltage is correct. Connected motor to external power and had no response.

Alternatively if you know anyone who restore motors like that - i know its uncommon and hard - please let me know.

I would be very appreciated if someone could get back to me if you have similar motor for sale. I am in Sydney Australia but will pay postage worldwide. Paypal is good for me.

    COPAL MODEL: RP-240
    Type 12-hr
    Voltage: 180-240V AC 50Hz 6W

Gear teeth on the shaft: 12

That's a bummer, especially since the gears are still fine! Electrically, they're hard to repair. I might have a motor for you or perhaps only the electrical part. If you want to have only the electrical part, I need a picture of the other side of that as well, to be able to compare.

You can send me a message through the forum. I live in Europe, but we have 220v/50hz, so that is useable in Australia.

For some reason the motor in the RP240 and the LP245 (same motor) seem to go faster than other ones. I have several ones here which are ok electrically, but where there is wear and play on the main shaft tube, causing for the wheel to vibrate, rendering the motor useless effectively.

      Hi,

Thank you very very much for your reply.
Attached is the photo of the other side.
Replacement motor would be ideal. Mine looks perfect from the inside but i am affraid electrical part is somehow damaged.
Is it actually possible for that flip clock coil to burn? - if so any tips how could i check that?
As said i tried to connect to AC power externally. No response from the motor. Spins freely and i can see magnetic field stops the wheel when spinned but no respond from it when connected to power.

      Kind regards,
      Robert

It is rare for these motors, but the coil can go open which would render the unit inoperable. Re-winding the coil would be quite labor intensive and probably expensive if you sent it out to be done.
