I'm getting one of these operational again but mine doesn't seem to have any wiring for the dial light. The bulb "holder" is there, but no bulb, no wires from the board. It seems that perhaps the bulb was removed and with it the wiring. Rather helpfully, I have the "Operating Instructions" manual inside of which there's a handwritten note which says XAMR28T alongside a hand-drawn picture of a bulb - two wires direct to the bulb type. So, it wouldn't seem unreasonable to deduce that the bulb was removed and never replaced and this is the correct replacement part? 240V 5W model.

Thank you for the tips on cleaning. I was all set to attempt to remove the front plate, but having seen your video, I decided to follow your lead and leave it in situ. It's come up pretty good.

You, Sir, are a star. Thank you for doing that! I'm not ready to tackle it just yet, but this will be very useful when I do. I've put everything back together for now, just to ensure basic functionality and keep everything intact, and will tackle the bulb once I'm sure everything else is OK. Thank you again

Enlightening video Mackey, I've been wondering why the current is so low in a lot of these 'pea' and 'grain of wheat' bulbs.

I guess underrunning the bulb would stop it from melting the surrounding plastic too!
