    GE Model 7-4310

Hello, I have a brand-new GE flip clock model 7-4310. I have had it for about two years, and it has run great. However, about a week ago, the motor stopped running. I disassembled it and oiled the motor. I had to use my finger to get it started, and once it started, it ran fine. When I unplugged it to reassemble, the motor stopped and would turn without my help. I tried shaking the clock to try and get it to start, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Sony that also has this issue now and then. Funny thing is that after switching it off briefly, it will not start, no matter how I shake it. But when I leave it unplugged for say an hour and then plug it in, it starts immediately!

Apart from his I can only advice to lubricate the rotor (which you already did, but nevertheless, see this video for tips how to best do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twl4iOmYq-E&t=323s).
If that fails, check if there is lateral play on the bearings. When the bearings have worn too much that may also cause intermittent stopping. In that case you may consider to replace the bearings: https://www.flipclockfans.com/forum/...-a-copal-motor (not a simple beginners job, but if you are skilled and not afraid of a bit of a challenge, it is certainly doable ).
