Zodiac 2007 (58:34) Surely that isn't a yellow Seth Thomas Speed Read Cube Lite, way back there on the shelf? It might even be upside down for some unknown reason. Can't confirm as I am out of pixels on this one... bonus: the same scene has a yellow Panasonic toot a loop AM radio sitting on the desk behind the reporter.

Awesome. I'm just a little skeptical about the Seth Thomas cube though. But if they had a Panasonic toot a loop, they obviously liked retro!

I did an overlay with an image manipulation software and the dimensions of the cube and black circle in the movie exactly match the Seth Thomas clock. I don't know if its upside down, but you know how they like to tape over things in movies. Maybe the spot at top is glare.

I actually watched the movie Zodiac (which was pretty good, I thought) just because of the possible flip clock. Unfortunately I'm thinking that it's not the cube clock after all. If you look at the clock in relation to the gallon jugs it's way too big. The speed read cube measured only 4 x 4 inches.

I think what you are seeing is the famous Panasonic TNT 8track player.

Great work Jeremy. Well, we'll scratch off the Seth Thomas cube as a movie flip clock.

Yeah I think your right, there are 8 tracks through out the movie in the background and would make more sense in an office.

Yes, the second one appears to be the GE 7-4310 (no appended letter) the 7-4310C and F have the sleep knob more to the front and the regular version has it almost near the middle of the grid section.

That's insane about the TFM-C650W. I'd like to see better pictures of it from the show. I keep looking to make sure that there's not another variant of this Sony that is brown.

It's amazing how many of these you see in movies when you look for them! I just re-watched the movie "The Conjuring", and there's two clocks in the film. One is a rotary style (looks like a GE 8142-4 I recently saw on Ebay) and I can't tell what the other one is. The movie is set in the 70s so it makes sense I guess. I'm also pretty sure there's one in the movie "Sinister" that flips just before something dramatic happens. I'll have to watch that movie again to confirm though.

I know the Panasonic 6015 gets more screen time in Back to the Future, but I think there's a another one in the opening sequence hiding with all the other tick tock clocks...

Looks to me to be a Copal 801 on its stand (possible grey color), placement of the AM and font seems to match. I like how they made sure to match its time to all the other more mundane time pieces...

I just figured out the clock I mentioned before is not from the movie Sinister, it's from the 2005 version of Amityville Horror. You see the clock flip to 3:15 almost every night, because it's an important time in the movie. It seems like every horror movie set in the 70s uses these for dramatic effect!

I thought it was a GE at first but the display is too bright. I think it's a Panasonic. They go out of their way to obscure the brand name in shadow in every shot. Possibly due to copyright.

Edit: I just did some research. I'm pretty sure it's based off of a Panasonic RC-6030, but the actual one used in the film was a prop. That's why the brand name was not over the radio dial.

I had never noticed that Copal in Back to the Future. The Copal 801 is very very pricey. I don't think I'll be getting one of those any time soon.
