Just had this toy arrive in! It needs 3 1.5 batteries. Need to get some batteries tomorrow and hang it up somewhere to test it.
It's new old stock and came in its original (and unfortunately unmarked) box! The seller also had another one in orange with the day (as opposed to just the time/date), but that went a little over budget for this month, perhaps it's still there next month :-)

White, beige or brown I find a bit dull on most clocks.
