    Seeking Copal GC-1349 motor

Or how to revive my old motor?

I have a Sony 8FC-100W with a lazy Copal GC-1349 motor. It runs if given a nudge but if unplugged it is again stuck. The housing vibrates but it just can't get going.

I came across Mackey's motor cleaning video and teardown. I will try the alcohol dip when I get another chance to open the clock. But I am thinking it got a wallop at some point or I'm not the first one inside the clock. The motor may just be unbalanced beyond what a cleaning will fix.

on the post about cleaning there was also gear box discussion. The casing looks intact but maybe that problem gear is bad.

In any case, I am hoping to locate a NOS motor or at least a donor used one that runs dependably.

I am sure a good alcohol bath will solve your issue (it always has for me).
